I greatly appreciate the opportunity I have had to work with you in therapy. I have accepted a position as the executive director at Gastineau Human Services. In this new role I will be helping the organization in its efforts to assist many in our community. This new position requires that I make a swift transition. As a result, I will be closing my practice at this time. If you have any future appointments scheduled, I will unfortunately be unable to fulfill them. I feel badly for any discomfort this transition may cause you. If you are in crisis, please let me know and I can do what I can to provide some additional after-hours support through the transition to a new therapist.
I will do what I can to help you get referred to another therapist if you choose. I have been reaching out to other providers in the area to find some who have availability for a transfer. I have compiled a list with details regarding their areas of expertise and payment methods accepted. The list is available below and will be regularly updated in the coming weeks as I identify any additional therapists with availability. If you choose to move forward with any of them (or someone else), I am happy to provide the new therapist with records or have a conversation with the new provider to help minimize the impact of the switch.
If you choose to move forward with a new therapist and would like me to communicate with them, please fill out the release of information form (also included) and return it to me via fax (907-600-4952) or email at (drs@drswinton.com).
If you desire to keep any of your records in your own custody, I am happy to provide you with them if you make a written request over the next month (email is fine) as described in the Notice of Privacy Practices (December 1, 2022).
